White Linen

Hello!
Sorry for being MIA for so long; I've been down with fever the past week and let's just say that work is driving me a little up the wall, we all have those day(s) don't we?
So, I wore this outfit to work a few days ago and quite liked the simple, cool and summer-y vibe it gave me.

Wearing:
Linen skirt:Cotton World, white tee and scarf: thrifted, belt: flea market in Hong-Kong, shoes: Old Navy, Bangles: thrifted and gifted

I hope everyone is having a nice week, tomorrow is Friday, yay! :)

To Honesty

 Wearing:
Black tee: MNG basics, Skirt: thrifted, metallic flats: Old Navy, Belt: Hong-Kong street bazaar

I wore this to work yesterday and I have to admit that it isn't one of my favorite outfits; sometimes things look good in your head but not so much in real life. But, you guys keep me honest so I decided to blog this outfit anyways!
Tomorrow will hopefully be a better outfit day, I know today already was (you'll see soon ;)).

Oranges and Pink

I actually wore this to work today, I took out my awesome quilted orange chain bag out of my closet after almost a year (why would I keep something so awesome locked up for so long? I'm not sure myself!).
I'm not a very pants person and I prefer dresses and skirts to jeans and pants any day, but sometimes you just need to wear the pants :P

I used a simple trick for this look; simple outfit in basic colours contrasted with fun accessories in popping hues.
Wearing:
Tee: thrifted, checked pants and pink studded belt: Bangkok, quilted chain bag: Hong-Kong, sandals: Old Navy, pendant: Accessorize

Simplici-T

Sometimes there's nothing like the simple charm of a basic white tee and blue denims. I wore this outfit to school today; adding a pretty floral scarf I thrifted yesterday and my colourful LeSportSac butterfly bag to liven things up a little.
I have my finals from Monday, so, the next 2 weeks are going to be CRAZY!!!

Wearing:
Skinny jeans and tee: to old to remember!, scarf: thrifted, thong slippers: Old Navy, belt: thrifted, Bag: LeSportSac, Nailpaint: Chanel 217 Splendeur

I hope everyone's having a good week :)

Barbie Like?

I wore this cute little outfit to school the other day and it made me feel like Barbie for a bit (it was fun).
I'd been thinking about styling this old green cotton skirt of mine (which is supposed to be worn low-waisted) for a while, it's such a beautiful colour and it's so SS '2011!
I'd been thinking of a way to make it more current and more 'me' so I just tightened it's drawstrings and  pushed up the extra fabric at the back and tucked it safely under my trusty belt! :)
It made the length more fun and flirty as well!
I wasn't to sure about the sandals with this outfit though, what do you guys think?

Wearing:
Skirt and belt: thrifted, printed tee: Mussourie, Old Navy tank (worn under), sandals: thrifted (Janpath, New Delhi)

Happy Happy Good Friday to you all :)
I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Scarf-y

I wore this outfit a few days ago to school. I love wearing comfy dresses during Delhi summers and they are the easiest thing to put on when you're getting ready in a hurry in the mornings! It's a simple jersey dress from Old Navy to which I added a scarf (tied around the waist as a belt) to make it more interesting.
Sometimes I'm lazy and I don't iron my clothes (as is clearly visible from the crumpled skirt), do you do that to? :P

 Wearing:
Dress: Old Navy, striped scarf (worn as belt): thrifted, Sandals: thrifted, necklace: Accessorize
(I've also rocked this floral necklace HERE)

I had the nicest most relaxing weekend with family, and INDIA WON the WORLD CUP! WOoohooo! That in itself instantly qualifies any weekend into super-duper weekend!
The boys in blue rocked their shit! Respect.

Dress-ed to Chill

I think woolen dresses are great! they look cute and trendy but keep you really warm as well, especially when you have to sit on cold surfaces in the winters, it helps to have something warm covering your behind!
I wore mine with a black polo neck underneath and colorful tights!

Wearing:
Woolen dress: Old Navy, Black polo neck top: thrift, Brown skirt (worn underneath): Forever 21, Purple tights: Hong-Kong street, Brown boots: New York thrift, felt muffler and sling postman's bag: mom's

I'm going to share some tips about storage and maintenance of woolen clothes which work for me personally (I hope they help!). Since pure wool is a protein fiber (its animal hair; most commonly sheep hair) :
  • Always dry-clean/wash woolens before packing them away for storage, otherwise, there's a good chance you will find them half eaten by next winter! Keeping an Odonil or some naphthalene balls in a net bag with them also helps keep the microbes at bay!
  • If you get a stain on woolens remove it as promptly as possible. For lipstick stains, firmly rubbing a piece of white bread on the stain can work well.
  • Hang sweaters and dresses on padded hangers or preferably fold and keep, otherwise, the fabric will tend to hang and lose shape over time (wool is a crinkled fiber so over time the crinkles may open up making the garment longer and bigger).
Happy woolen wearing :)
