What Would a Nerd Wear?

During exams, I tend to live in my over-sized spectacles (which I do otherwise to actually) and my dressing takes a comfortable and functional turn . This is what I would wear on a typical exam day; no-fuss but still belted! :P
(Don't judge my dirty boots; my pet dog Fifi chewed them up a little + it was raining that day)
Wearing:
Electric-blue jeans: 5th Avenue, DLF Place mall, Saket, Black jacket: Benetton, Scarf: moms, Belt: Hong-kong, brown tshit: thrifted, boots: Wet Seal, Sling bag: Accessorize

Talking about 'What Would a Nerd Wear', I recently came across an awesome blog by the same name; it's an archive of grad school style of/by a student/teacher named Tania based in the US, studying British literature (find it HERE) . It made me realize that we all have a little nerd in us and I quite like the nerd in me :P
What brings out the nerd in you?

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

A Purple Valentine

I love the Madras Check (the type of check on the shirt I'm wearing, though you can't really see it :P), in fact i love checked shirts in general! and I also love pencil skirts. I decided to combine the two today for this mornings college outfit.
I kept the colours neutral and added a pop with the purple flats :)

My lovely boyfriend sent me a beautiful bunch of red roses (yes, I'm a hardcore romantic and sucker for flowers, chocolates, love stories and the like- Live Love DressUp you see :)) and I couldn't' stop smiling like a giddy little child when I got them :D

Happy Happy Valentine's Day to all my lovely readers!
I hope everyone had a love-filled day!

Brick by Brick & Layer by Layer

The NIFT campus in New Delhi is small but beautiful! it has some very interesting architecture, lot's of artwork, oodles of talent, and some refreshing greenery as well! (everything you would expect from a design institute + more!)
My lovely friend and classmate Shivani (who is also a fellow blogger; check her blog out HERE) took my photographs today in the NIFT campus; Thank You Shivani :)

I loved the pile of bricks at the side...such a nice site for photographs :)

Wearing:
Acid-washed jeans: Bangkok, Black sweater: Benetton, Grey open sweater: Promod, Belt and printed racer back (worn underneath; peaking out from under my top): thrift, striped grey t-shirt: Westside, boots: Wet Seal, clutch-wallet: Forever 21

I love layered dressing; its functional and stylish at the same time. It was my mom who first taught me the basics of how to layer (longer tops below shorter ones and complimentary/similar toned colors teamed together are a safe bet) but ofcourse, there are no real 'Rules' to dressing up, it's something so personal and spontaneous!
I kept the color palette of todays outfit very basic but I really liked it that way!

With so many layers in my outfit (four to be precise!) The slim waist-cinching belt was much needed to break the bulk and give my outfit some shape.

Also, a big shout out to the O-MAN for lending me his cool iphone 4 to click :)
