Take 2

I have my 'go to' outfits for days when I can't think of what to wear (yes, just like everyone else I have those days to).
I wore the same sweater (which is my brothers!) a while back in a 'different but similar' outfit, for todays outfit I just played with the color of the tights and the accessories a little but kept the essential look the same. You can see the earlier look in an earlier post HERE.
Here's a sneak peak:
I'd love to know which one you liked more?

Wearing:
Over-sized pullover: Brother's, tights: Bangkok thrift, Black dress (worn under): Benetton, black scarf and belts: thrift, Suede boots: Charlotte Russe

The black scarf I'm wearing in this post isn't actually an infinity scarf, but since I thought it would look nice with my outfit, I just knotted up the ends of my regular scarf and put the knot at the back and VOILA!

My classmate and friend Suhani has become my second photographer now :)
Thank you!

French Flavour

My beret has got me thinking 'French' and the whole pink and black color pallet on the trench coat dress got me even more in the mood!
It's no surprise that the French are so stylish and inspiring when it comes to fashion, after all, modern 'Haute Couture' originated in Paris in the 1860's, and today Paris is one of the top Fashion Capitals of the world.
I feel that the Parisienne chic style is the epitome of chic elegance.

Wearing:
Trench coat dress: thrifted, black dress (worn under): Benetton, tights and patent leather belt: thrift, suede flats: Charlotte Russe, pendant: Accessorize, beret: Forever 21, silver ring: Silofer, GK M block market

I get this funny urge to over-edit photographs sometimes :P

I love how this trench is so versatile, it can be worn with tights as a dress, over jeans as a trench coat and even over skirts!

Warm & Cuddly

This grey over-sized woolen pullover has been 'borrowed' from my dearest brother :)
It's the really comfy and warm and I could live in all day! It just goes to show that something comfortable need not look drab and boring, it can look fun and fabulous to!

Wearing:
Over-sized pullover: Brother's, black dress (worn under it): Benetton, Electric blue tights: Hong-Kong, studded elastic belt: Hong-Kong, Suede ankle boots: Charlotte Russe, Gold bracelet: Theme

Especially in winters when we tend to wear multiple layers and baggy clothes, BELTS are the perfect accessory to balance an outfit; they can be used to emphasize the waist and break down a bulky sweater/dress.

I have some belt trivia for you guys...
Did you know? that, before the 1920s, belts served mostly a decorative purpose, and were associated with the military, it was common for officers to wear extremely tight, wide belts around the waist, on the outside of the uniform. These tightly cinched belts served to draw in the waist and give the wearer a trim physique.
Isn't that cool!

Saturday Fun

I'd bought these awesome spectacle frames from a street in Manhattan on my recent trip and I just got them fitted with powered lenses, I was in a crazy mood so i clicked funny pictures with them on!

Today is my dad's birthday, and it was quite the perfect Saturday, lunch at Smoke House Deli and Chinese for dinner, movie and window shopping in between :)
This is what i wore for my fun day with family.
I switched around with the pullover and accessories a bit for slightly different looks.

Wearing:
Green jersey dress: Xpress, Black tights: Hong Kong thrift, black pullover: moms (I'm in love with it and have decided to steal it from her and wear it all winter!), Bow hairband: Accessorize, bag: Chanel, bling-y pendant and flower ring: thrift, snakeskin flats: Charlotte Russe

Time for Tights

So, i have crazy workload from college this week, submission after submission, gave a big one in today...phew!
I wore this to class today...i felt green and tight-sy :P
Random observation: the tights match with my curtains!

Wearing:
White puffed sleeved t-shirt and blank tank underneath: Forever 21, Denim skirt (DIY from mom's old Levis jeans :), I LOVE them!), Green tights: Hong Kong flea, paisley print scarf: McleodGanj thrift, Snakeskin print ballet flats: Charlotte Russe, Black bow hairband: Forever 21, beaded bracelet: thrift

This scarf is so versatile, a cute scarf in an interesting print/colour can give any regular outfit an instant lift...try it :)

DIY: Denim mini-skirt

This is an awesome trick to transform and re-use your old jeans (with a long-ish zipper area) , just cut them across, where the crotch/zipper ends and voila you have a trendy mini-skirt plus the frayed ends look great!

As you may have noticed, I live in ballet flats for college and casual wear, they're just so comfy and hassle-free! but for the smallest outing, I'm a heels girl!
Whats your favourite everyday footwear?

Living out of a suitcase

These are three outfits I wore on a vacation to Hong-Kong with family last summer. Actually, the last one is something I put on after I came back from there on a movie date with boyfriend, and, most of the stuff i wore was from my shopping escapades there!
