Spectrum 2011

Like I told you guys, NIFT New Delhi, had it's annual cultural festival 'SPECTRUM' from the 21st-23rd of February. Here are some snapshots from before and during those days. The campus was overflowing with creativity, art, events, music, witty slogans and fun!
These are some of my favorite shots...

A 'work in progress'

My departments 'work of art', it's what we managers do; simple and cost-effective, yet, very impactful!

A bit of the poster, all the events and decor was based around the theme 'Tagged Green'

Department banners against the gorgeous building and skyline.

Every department at NIFT put up some artwork around campus, this is one of them.

and more..

I hope you guys enjoyed your little tour!

Fest-(i)-vity

It's been an eventful and rewarding 3 days, SPECTRUM 2011 (the annual cultural festival of NIFT, New Delhi) was awesome! (look out for my next post; a special on the fest :))
This is what I wore on Day 1 of the fest. My friend and I took part in the 'Styling Competition' and came in IInd !

That white tag on my cardigan (which I forgot to remove), is my group number for this event I participated in. Kindly excuse :P
I've worn these black Charlotte Russe boots to death this season and I don't think they have enough left in them to last me another season :( they just seem to go with everything + keep me warm in Delhi winters!

Wearing:
DIY denim skirt (I've also worn it HERE and HERE) : from mom's old Levis, tights: Hong-Kong, floral top: H & M, Black cardigan: GAP, brown studded belt: Paprika- Lifestyle, black belt: thrift, Hobo bag and rings: Accessorize, bruised and beaten up boots: Charlottle Russe

I loved the details in this outfit.

A Little Change

This outfit combines a few of my current favorite things: animal prints, khaki pants and cage heels (did I mention quited chain bags ? :))
I've worn a very similar outfit HERE, I clicked these pictures the same day, but didn't put them up for some reason. I love changing a few key items but keeping the same base outfit and still getting different looks, that's what I was trying to do here.
It's just a change of one piece of clothing, but, I feel it gives 2 different vibes to my look, what do you think?

This season I've been leaning towards neutral-classic tones: nudes, black, navy blue and browns somehow... hmmm

Believe it or not that scarf is some 15 years old!, it has tiny holes in it now but I still adore it! It used to be my mom's before I stole it from her :)

A Purple Valentine

I love the Madras Check (the type of check on the shirt I'm wearing, though you can't really see it :P), in fact i love checked shirts in general! and I also love pencil skirts. I decided to combine the two today for this mornings college outfit.
I kept the colours neutral and added a pop with the purple flats :)

My lovely boyfriend sent me a beautiful bunch of red roses (yes, I'm a hardcore romantic and sucker for flowers, chocolates, love stories and the like- Live Love DressUp you see :)) and I couldn't' stop smiling like a giddy little child when I got them :D

Happy Happy Valentine's Day to all my lovely readers!
I hope everyone had a love-filled day!

The Last Few of Winter

I was initially trying to give 'colour-blocking' a shot with this outfit but couldn't quite get it right, so I added my go-to belt and these fun patterned socks.
I will never get over how I got this 7 for all Mankind red corduroy skirt for a hundred rupees ($ 2) from a charity shop a few years ago...happiness :)

Wearing:
Blazer: Puma, Blue V-neck sweater: Ralph Lauren, Skirt: 7 for all Mankind (which I got for like 100 bucks from a charity shop :D), Belt and check socks: thrift, Boots: Charlotte Russe

Maroon Blush

Thanks to a college assignment I went 'Trend Spotting' to Karol Bagh Market (In New Delhi, India) yesterday, there wasn't much of any trend to spot but it was lots of fun! It was Delhi Metro zindabad!

I've always loved wearing blazers  ... of all kinds. It's really interesting how they started of strictly as part of formal wear but designers and trends have lapped up and played with this classic piece of clothing in all sorts of ways, season after season. It's been made short, fitted, over-sized, long, ruffled and even boyfriend-ed!
Even when worn casually, it always adds a put-together and chic look to any outfit. They are definitely my go-to pieces for days when I don't know what to wear.

The ruffling detail on this jacket/wannabe blazer won my heart, I used the belt to further accentuate the ruffles :)

I never got the chance to tell you guys that a few days ago I met up with the lovely Tanvi of The Fabulous Life of the Not so Rich and Infamous, she is one of the most inspiring and genuine (not to mention stylish) women I've met and we chatted endlessly about fashion, style, blogs, bloggers and life. Saying that it was a pleasure meeting her is an understatement! Check out her post about our little rendevouz here.

Floral scarves and Idli

After class, I went for coffee and then early dinner with my friends to this beautiful  and quaint Travel cafe in Hauz Khas Village called Kunzum Travel Cafe. It has the most lovely art work on display and this really relaxed vibe. Then we went to Navedyam; a place with yummy south-Indian food and lovely Decor (I wish I would have clicked pictures!) for early dinner, all in all it was:
good friends + good conversation + good food = a good day :D

Outfit wise, I feel that you can't really go wrong with some classic combinations; like the blue distressed jeans, whit tee and black jacket in this outfit. This floral scarf from Accessorize is my favorite scarf :)
Wearing:
Faux leather jacket: Forever 21, t-shirt and jeans: Bangkok and thrift, boots: Wet Seal

Tomorrow is Friday! hellooo weekend!

Not Very Tech-y

Today was ... just another Wednesday, but it's my brothers birthday tomorrow :) which means there will be lots of cake in the house tonight!
I've never been very tech-savvy (if that's what you call it) but I thought I was doing ok with the whole 'keeping up with technology thing', Truth = I'm not!
Here's how the story goes: My lovely brother gifted me a fancy android cellphone last week (so nice of him and I LOVE him for it and other things :)), which after using for a week (may i add with great difficulty) I finally decided to politely return to him today! why???
I just cannot seem to figure it out! I waste 90% of its 'cool' features and my credit keeps getting cut for no apparent reason because of some cool services which I don't even know about, but I'm apparently using!
Phewww! Thank God that's over and I'm back to my trusty and rusty old handset :)
Some of us just aren't made for these things, right?

t

I wore this to college today morning. Wearing:
Skinny Jeans: Basement shop in Lajpat Nagar Market, belt and scarf: thrift, sweater: ?, Knitted boots: Venus Steps
